This is a topic that has been weighing on my mind for some time now. In regard to the moves that you make in life some choose to be either optimistic or realistic with their approach. There’s no problem with either approach, but they each have there own set of pros and cons.
Optimism can give you the “skies the limit” mentality but doesn’t necessarily leave room for a plan to work from to get there. It’s never a bad thing to be hopeful because I believe that hope is something that can keep us sane in life. But without a plan to make your dreams a reality that’s all it’s going to be…dreams.
Being realistic can give you a more calculated approach towards your plans but has the potential to cap your limitations. What I mean by this is it can make you play it safe just by doing enough to get by. I believe that in life we should push ourselves beyond the boundaries that was placed for us.
When i’ve spoken to a few people about this they often looked at it as picking sides. The first thing that came to mind when I hear this is why not be both? I believe that you can be optimistic with your goals and be realistic with your plans to achieve them. That way you can do whatever it is you want to do in life also have a guideline of how to get there.
